ARTISTS |
SWEET PLANTAIN string quartet
Sweet Plantain is a string quartet that specializes in genre-blurring, original compositions and arrangements as well as contemporary works by Latin American composers. Its unique style fuses Latin, classical, jazz, and improvisational forms.

B3+
Taylor/Clark/Hackl are creating their own brass trio literature. The tension initiated by the blending of improvisation and composed passages defies every attempt to categorize it. Think: Gunther Schuller meets P. Diddy meets Yo-Yo Ma meets Gil Evans meets Michael Jackson. Get the picture?

SOUND LIBERATION
Sound Liberation's musical philosophy, developed by band founder Gene Pritsker, is based upon "ending the segregation of sound vibration" (i.e. musical genres). The group incorporates its philosophy by performing original music that encompasses diverse musical styles grounded in hip-hop and rock rhythms.

STRATOSPHEERIUS
Lead by electric violinist/vocalist Joe Deninzon, the band has showcased their "psychojazz trip funk" at colleges, festivals, and clubs throughout the US. Their live performances are filled with funky dance grooves, rip-roaring guitar/violin jams, and hooks that mix jazz, funk, and rock.
